MONITOR MOVES TO REAL TIME |
|
With this issue of the Monitor, we are pleased to announce the updating of our property transfer data base and quarterly
statistical data to a real time report period. Until now, we have relied on independent transfer services that lagged the market.
From here out, we are pulling data directly from the County of Charleston Assessor's office, i.e., no middle men to make mistakes. Because of this, we are using this year end issue to provide you an accounting of all the transfers we needed to "catch up" on, and, revise the quarterly statistics provided in the past quarterly reports for 1996. The 1Q97 report will include a final revision, as necessary. Due to how much data we are reporting in this issue, something had to give. In the transfer report, we are suspending the reporting on the previous price paid for the property and the sale ratio analysis. This feature requires additional programming and will be brought back, hopefully, no later than the next issue. |
As you may remember, we mentioned our frustration with the data collection process in the 3Q96 report. We are excited about the
change and have worked long and hard to accomplish this goal. We hope you share the excitement that this brings to the publication.
Last year many of you responded to a survey requesting a monthly method of reporting transfers. With this move we can now offer this added service. If you are interested in receiving a monthly update on property transfers please call us at 803-971-1016. We are completing the research to accomplish this goal and your input will help us finalize the content of the report, format outputs and pricing. Again, we want to thank you for showing your support of this service through your continued renewals. We hope this shows our commitment to be the best source for your real estate information needs, providing the most comprehensive, reliable data at the most competitive rate |
